1. Rigid guardrail is a guardrail structure that is basically non-deformable. Concrete guardrail is the main form of rigid guardrail. It is a wall structure composed of concrete blocks of a certain shape connected to each other. It uses an out-of-control vehicle to collide and then climb up and turn to absorb the collision energy.
2. Semi-rigid guardrail is a continuous beam-column guardrail structure with certain rigidity and flexibility. Corrugated guardrail is the main representative form of semi-rigid guardrail. It is a kind of corrugated steel guardrail panels that are spliced together and supported by columns. The continuous structure it consists of uses the deformation of the soil foundation, columns, and corrugated beams to absorb collision energy and force the out-of-control vehicle to change direction.
3. Flexible guardrail is a flexible guardrail structure with large buffering capacity. Cable guardrail is the main representative form of flexible guardrail. It is a structure composed of several cables that apply initial tension and are fixed on a column. It mainly relies on the tensile stress of the cables to resist vehicle collisions and absorb collision energy.
End - the starting and end anchoring device of the cable guardrail. Includes end columns, diagonal braces, cable end anchors and concrete foundations.
Intermediate end - the intermediate anchoring device provided when the cable guardrail is continuously installed over a certain length.
Intermediate column - an intermediate column located between the ends or intermediate ends.
Bracket - A device mounted on a column to support and secure cables.
Rope End Anchor - A device fixed to the end or mid-end of a cable to anchor it.
4. Roadside guardrails refer to guardrails installed on the shoulders of highways. The purpose is to prevent out-of-control vehicles from going off the road and collision with other roadside facilities.
5. The central divider guardrail refers to the guardrail installed in the central divider of the highway. The purpose is to prevent out-of-control vehicles from crossing the median and into oncoming lanes, and to protect structures within the median.
Movable guardrail - refers to a movable guardrail installed at the opening of the central separation zone to facilitate the emergency passage of accident handling vehicles and emergency rescue vehicles.
The end of the central divider guardrail - refers to the special structure set up at the beginning or end of the central divider guardrail, and also includes the end of the central divider opening.
